Types of Schedules_

FULL-TIME: The most common full-time work schedule is variant of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, adding up to 40 hours per week. While most full-time schedules are normally the same shift each day, shifts can vary, but the number of hours will still add up to 35-40 per week.

PART-TIME: An example of a part-time work schedule could be Monday through Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m; Saturday and Sunday at 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.

SPLIT: A split shift is a type of shift-work schedule where a person's work day is split into two or more parts. A regular break for rest or to eat meals does not count as a split. For example, a person may work from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m; take a break until 12 p.m. and then return to work until 5 a.m.

ON-CALL: An on-call schedule (or on-call shift) is a schedule that ensures the right person is always available, day or night, to quickly respond to calls for service. On-call personnel are expected to swoop in to provide support services and deal with emergencies (suicide prevention) etc at anytime.
