Private Investigator I - CPI
Criminal Investigator I - CCI
Close Protection Agent I - CPA
Fugitive Recovery Agent I - CRA
Those of the entry level (CPI/CCI/CPA/CRA) regardless of their years of service, whether they’re a brand-new academy graduate or have 2 years on the job until promoted; these men and women are often called "Case Investigators or Case Agents", who are assigned to solve cases, work a protection detail, or apprehend a fugitive depending on the office they're assigned to and are usually the first on the scene.

Fugitive Recovery Agent II - LRA
The first line of supervisors (LPI/LCI/LPA/LRA) are the ones in the field leading their unit (3-5 personnel) on cases. In comparing this position to local and state its analogous to a "Sergeant". An office run by a (LPI/LCI/LRA) is called the "Lead Office."

Fugitive Recovery Agent III - SRA
The second line of supervisors are known as (SPI/SCI/SPA/SRAs) they’re responsible for managing "supervising" a division or line of service (1-4 units consisting of 10+ personnel). These positions are equivalent to “Second Lieutenant” within local and state agencies. An office where (SPI/SCI/SRA) is the highest rank in charge, is called the "S Office."

The third-line of supervisors is called a (API/ACI/APA/ARAs), they’re responsible for managing "advising" the field office; essentially the “First Lieutenant” when compared to Local and State; in charge of 10+ personnel within 5+ offices located throughout a wide geographic area (i.e.1-5+ states); API/ACI/DPA/DRAs, are responsible for enforcing discipline, executing orders, and reporting directly to the (DPI/DCI/DPA/DRAs).

The highest-ranking investigator in each region is the Directing Investigator or Agent; (DPI/DCI/DPA/DRA) is the equivalent to “Captain”; DPI/DCI/DPA/DRAs, are responsible for managing "directing" all the field offices in their region; they’re in charge of 10+ personnel within 5+ offices located throughout a wide geographic area (i.e.1-5+ states). The DPI/DCI/DPA/DRA office is the controlling location for all field offices in the assigned geographic region. The DPI/DCI/DPA/DRA reports directly to the DDO.
